Description: 17 of March 2003, 02:50:17 Brazil local time (UTC-4): We have just crossed the Equator. 0 Degrees 00.005 Minutes South. Sailing at 10,3 knots SOG (the current against us at aprox. 2 knots), we celebrate with a bottle of Champagne.

Description: 'Lencois' stands for 'blankets': The island gets its name from the immense sand dunes that cover the island like blankets. The only village on 'Ilha does Lencois' can be seen in the back of the picture.

Description: Three fishermen from 'Ilha dos Lencois' who brought us freshly fished shrimp at 0800 in the morning. Since we did not yet have any Brazilian currency to pay with, we exchanged the shrimp for a WildlifeSAIL-T-Shirt and a bottle of Spanish wine.
